MODERN DAY.

Sometimes I wonder,
If my quietness is often mistaken for
Stupidity and cowardice,
Or simply a lack of what they call “street sense”
“Please” and “thank you”
have been to sent
To the gallows,
And all we have left are shallow minds,
Hollow hearts without essence,
Driven by greed,jealousy,lust.

It seems like of this era
I was not born,
And I observe and observe,
As the world rots away,
Unconscious to time,
As it ticks and tocks.

The weights have been shifted,
The naïve become the “Enlightened.”
